FUNERALS
When you suffer a bereavement, a funeral for a member of your family is the most difficult day of your life. Everything your family and friends ever thought about a loved one is expressed on that day.
It is a rare privilege to be a funeral piper, to stand in a sensitive position at a crucial time in the midst of your family.
My experience of piping at funerals, memorials and celebrations of life allows me to work with both the family and the funeral director to suggest appropriate ways in which the piper can add dignity and gravitas to your memorial service. Once that is determined, I work hand in hand with the funeral director to ensure everything is planned and runs smoothly on the day without impacting on the family.
As with all my engagements, I pride myself on being able deliver the specific music requests of the family, whether it be appropriate traditional Scottish or Irish music or more contemporary requests that have special meaning to the family.
There are several options available, and whilst this list is not exhaustive, it provides suggestions for the family to base their requirements on.
AVAILABLE OPTIONS
• Pipe the hearse away from the residence
• Escort the cortege to the church or crematorium
• Provide specific music during the service
• Escort the coffin to the graveside
• Pipe for the committal (burial or Crematorium)
• Pipe as people gather their thoughts after the committal
• Pipe as mourners leave the crematorium
• Pipe at the Wake or Funeral reception
You can choose all or just some of the above services for your funeral. Alternatively, if there is something else you would like, I am more than willing to tailor my services in order to meet specific requests.
I will, of course, be flexible about time on the day – the more options you choose will impact on the quote, as will travel distance. Please don’t hesitate to be in touch to discuss your day and the services you require.

Testimonials

Craig was amazing and exactly what we wanted for the funeral of our son.
He was so helpful in helping us decide what we wanted. Kept us updated throughout the whole process from booking him to the day of the funeral.
Would definitely recommend him.

I needed a piper for my dads funeral but with everything else that I had to arrange I had left it quite close to the funeral day to find one. Through the Encore website we submitted our request and Craig answered after only a couple of minutes. He said he was available for the date and time we needed which was lucky for us so we booked his services.
We messaged and spoke, he also contacted our funeral director to liaise timings with him. Craig piped up to the Crematorium in front of my dads hearse whilst he played Amazing Grace. It was very emotional, but also beautiful.
Would wholeheartedly recommend his services.
